Ximian Evolution Crashes After Install On J6000 Running HP-UX 11.0

I would like to run the Evolution mailer under GNOME 1.2 (Ximian
Desktop 1.4) on my J6000 Visualize workstation running HP-UX 11.0.

I download the appropriate software:

http://www.ximian.com/evolution/hpux

from a link on the GNOME for HP-UX FAQ:

http://www.software.hp.com/products/GNOME/support.html#faq-a6

(I found this link to Evolution after installing GNOME for HP-UX via
this link).

After successfully installing file "XmnEvoltn-1.4.gm.46-PA.depot", I
run:

evolution

which produces an error popup reporting:

"Application "evolution-mail" (process <pid>) has crashed due to a
fatal error. (Segmentation fault)"

The "evolution" application continues, but I would like to use the
mail portion of the program.

After closing the popup window my terminal reports:

"evolution-shell-WARNING **: Error setting owner on component
OAFIID:GNOME_Evolution_Mail_ShellComponent -- CORBA error"

Would someone please let me know if they have successfully resolved
this error and how I may do so? I assume it is something simple, but
I am new to running GNOME desktop on HP-UX. I've Google'd briefly for
this error, but found little help. The swinstall log reports no
install errors.

Unfortunately, Ximian doesn't seem to provide the sources used to
compile this evolution release on HP-UX.

Thanks for your help in advance.

It runs OK on my (heavily patched) J6000. Do you have a recent Quality Pack
bundle installed?
"Application "evolution-mail" (process <pid>) has crashed due to a fatal
error. (Segmentation fault)"
evolution is a "wrapper" for several other executables. To try to debug
what is happening, run "evolution-mail" in the debugger, *before*
executing "evolution".
Would someone please let me know if they have successfully resolved this

Try patching your system. Specifically, look at libc and aCC run-time
patches.

I spent some time today successfully installing the latest 11.0 HP
Quality Pack bundle (September 2003):

Unfortunately, I still receive the same error.

I'll try this tomorrow and see if this yields any results.

I did find a Ximian Bugzilla report which matches this bug almost
perfectly (from 2003-03-25):

http://bugzilla.ximian.com/show_bug.cgi?id=36893

Unfortunately, it gives no solution besides a recommendation to
upgrade to Evolution 1.2.3.

Sincerely,

Kevin
