(too old to reply)

After successful installation of the latest HPUX 10.20 patch
bundle (from ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software1/wk132/
wk132en/XSW700GR1020_10.20_700.depot), about 250 megs of
disk space are "lost".
There are lots of files/ subdirs in /var/adm/sw/patches.
Is this just backup copies of previously installed sw?
May I safely delete this tree of obsoleted files (i.e.
rm -r /var/adm/sw/patches)?

Thank you both, Mike and NASA folks for your suggestions!

I did not delete the /var/adm/sw/patches tree, but ran
'cleanup -i' (mentioned in ftp://rtfm.mit.edu/pub/faqs/hp/hpux-faq).
As this only saved some space by deleting files in /var/adm/sw/,
I also ran 'cleanup -F' *after* having made a backup of
/var/adm/sw/patches. patches.tar.gz is 100 megs in size.
I hope this will permit a rollback if necessary.
Thanks again, Torsten
